Muffin making

Todays Tech from home involved cooking muffins from scratch using a base recipe.  Students were encouraged to create their own flavours depending on what ingredients they had on hand at home.  So far I know Rylee made a delicious batch of blueberry muffins, Sophie baked chocolate chip muffins and Duncan and Georgia made double choc chip.  I whipped some some chocolate raspberry muffins to feed my hungry family! I'm sure we will have more photos to share as they come in but for now...Ta Da!!

TECH CREATIONS

Tech is well under way this year with new rotations of students getting hands on and creative in the sewing, woodwork and Food Tech rooms.
Sewing students are refining their expertise on the sewing machines, hard at it making lounging pants, Wood work students are learning new skills with a range of tools, creating dice.  Food tech students are utilising the abundance of produce growing in our school gardens and last week learnt the skills of preserving, by making delicious courgette pickle.

Tech 2019

Last term our year 6 students began Tech for the first time.  They began their Tech journey with Anne Toohill in our sewing room.
The first challenge our year 6 students face, is gaining their 'Licence to sew'.  They must master a series of hand stitches and learn to sew on a button before they make a little toy.

Here we see Hayley with her completed bunny toy.

Our cooking students made delicious apple fritters last week.  Our aim is to connect with our school environment and use produce grown within our school.  This teaches our chefs about utilising seasonal produce.
