Random word challenge

I have seen many students try the Random Word challenge that Mrs Allan has posted on our class site.  I thought I would give this challenge a go myself.  My daughter selected a random page number, line number and word number from the novel I am currently reading and the word I ended up with was 'Away'.
That word instantly created an image in my head of a child running away from me...my writing took off from there.
Can you spot some of the language features I have chosen to include in my writing?
I am still not sure if I am 100% happy with the final result.  I may keep revisiting this piece and making changes until I get it just right!

Thanks Mrs Allan for the fun writing idea.

  2. Good Morning Mrs Torrie
Thanks so much for you kind feedback. It was an effective quick write idea and I will definitely try this agin once we are back at school.
I would also love to give the whole class the same 'random word' and see how many different directions their writing tasks them.
    Have a lovely day

Thank you for your positive, thoughtful, helpful comments.
Positive - something done well
Thoughtful - a sentence to let us know you actually read/watched or listened to what they had to say
Helpful - give some ideas for next time or ask a question you want to know more about
